Contact me about this Painting
I’ve titled this painting “The Lubavitcher Rebbe in Prayer: Light of the Torah.” It depicts the Lubavitcher Rebbe immersed in one of the most sacred moments—prayer. He is draped in a tallit, the traditional Jewish prayer shawl symbolizing divine protection and blessing. On his head, he wears tefillin—small boxes containing Torah scrolls—reminding us of the connection between man and G-d, and the commitment to follow His commandments.
The painting is rendered in vibrant tones, conveying not just the power of the moment, but also the spiritual energy radiating from the Rebbe. The colors seem to pulse, reflecting the light of the Torah and the depth of the Rebbe’s prayer. I wanted this painting to capture the sense that the Rebbe himself is a source of this light—a beacon of divine wisdom that fills the space around him.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe often said, “Every person can be a light that illuminates the world. Even the smallest ray can disperse darkness.” This concept was central to his philosophy—to always strive toward goodness and light, to help others, and to bring spirituality into every aspect of life. I aimed to convey this through the color palette, with the Rebbe’s light symbolizing his wisdom and the guidance he provided to others.
Another powerful teaching of the Rebbe was, “We live not only for ourselves, but for those whom we can inspire.” His life was devoted to uplifting people across the globe, and this moment of prayer reflects his profound connection to both G-d and humanity. I portrayed this moment as a symbol of his ongoing spiritual dedication, his connection to the divine, and his care for every individual.
This painting serves as a reminder that in prayer and spiritual practice, we find true strength, and that even in the quietest moments, we can feel the presence of the divine.
