I painted a
picture capturing Jerusalem in all its historical and spiritual glory. At the center of the image lies the Old City, with its ancient walls and arches that hold millennia of history. The houses of the Old City are bathed in light, creating a sense of eternal radiance.
Above the city, a golden menorah stands, its light illuminating all of Jerusalem. This light symbolizes divine presence and wisdom, guiding our way. The menorah, as an ancient symbol of Judaism, represents not only a lamp but also the connection between heaven and earth, between God and His people. The light from the menorah stretches over the entire city, illuminating its homes and streets, giving Jerusalem a special, almost mystical significance.
Surrounding the city, I placed
Hebrew letters, which create a symbolic connection between Jerusalem and Jewish history. These letters embody the roots and heritage of my people, emphasizing our deep bond with this sacred city. For me, Jerusalem is not just a place on the map but the heart of our culture, history, and faith.
The connection to Jerusalem is crucial for us Jews because it reflects our roots, our identity, and our link to our ancestors. This city reminds us of our traditions, our victories, and our trials. It embodies our spiritual strength and our hope for the future.
