Original Oil Painting available here
In this painting, I sought to convey the grandeur of Jerusalem and its sacred connection to the Jewish people. At the center is the Kotel (Western Wall), its golden stones symbolizing timeless sanctity and bearing the marks of countless generations who have prayed and hoped here. Each stone represents eternity, soaked in prayers and emotions, while the figures standing at the wall, wrapped in tallits, form a flow of prayers that connects the present to the past.
The Torah scroll surrounding the wall serves not only as a frame but as a divine shield, symbolizing the sacred law that has guided the people of Israel for centuries. Here, the Torah is depicted not merely as text but as a living breath, encircling the city and illuminating its path. The rays of light descending from above embody divine presence and protection, illuminating and blessing both the kotel and the people.
This painting is an allegory of unity – between God, His people, and the holy city, representing their unbreakable bond and eternal covenant.
