I want to share with you the process of creating this painting, as it is special to me. When I started painting the Lubavitch Rebbe, my goal was not just to convey his image, but to show his character, energy and wisdom through paint.
Each color in this work has a deep meaning. Red and orange tones symbolize his inner fire and vitality, with which he influenced the world. Blue and violet shades reflect his wisdom, calmness and spiritual depth. I used green and gold colors to convey his hope and ability to inspire people to grow and renew.
Choosing the colors was a real challenge – I strove to ensure that each shade perfectly corresponded to the qualities of the Rebbe that I wanted to convey. I felt how every stroke of the brush became a part of his image, and how every color added new facets to his character.
The work technique was also difficult. I used multiple layers of paint to create depth and saturation. This allowed the picture to “breathe” with light and energy, as if the picture itself comes to life and transmits the power that the Rebbe brought to this world.
