When I painted this scene, it was important for me to show not only the strength of the eucalyptus trees but also the soft silhouette of the distant Judean hills. These trees were brought to Israel to dry swamps and fight malaria, and over time they became a natural part of our landscape. The eucalyptus together with the Judean mountains create the atmosphere I love, and every time I look at this view I feel a deep connection to the land of Israel.
